It’s ten years since Beltane was first set up and it’s a great opportunity to celebrate the different projects which Beltane has played a role in, look ahead to the network’s future and meet up with old friends.
We’d like to invite you to the Beltane Annual Gathering on Thursday 13 June at the Grassmarket Centre from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.
The Annual Gathering is a tradition that goes back to Beltane’s origins: reflecting on the great public engagement activity which takes place across its four partner universities (Edinburgh Napier University, Heriot-Watt University, Queen Margaret University and The University of Edinburgh); building a network of engaged researchers, community partners and public engagement professionals; and providing a forum for new connections.
2019’s Annual Gathering will include:
- reflecting on Beltane’s first ten years
- announcing the Beltane Sparks winners
- celebrating the renewed commitment of our partner universities with our new Manifesto
- enjoying a ‘taste’ of engagement
We’re delighted to be working with WineTubeMap this year, who are providing a taste of their research from Queen Margaret University. WineTubeMap is an innovative tool which matches different types of wine with food, exploring the sensory experiences this creates, and the science behind it. Non-alcoholic alternatives will also be available and there will be a cash bar for any additional drinks.
Free tickets are available at Eventbrite: https://beltane10.eventbrite.co.uk
We’d like to capture a flavour of Beltane’s first ten years. Please email us your photos and memories and we will share them during the Annual Gathering to admin@beltanenetwork.org.
Catering will be provided by the Grassmarket Centre, WineTubeMap and the Broomhouse Change Kitchen. We’re proud to support our community partners and the essential work which they do across Edinburgh.
