Description: Every April the University runs hands-on activities, workshops and shows at the National Museum of Scotland, as part of EISF. Various subject areas in College Sci Eng and College Med vet take part. If you are interested in taking part in some way, the event manager Janet Paterson can put you in touch with the relevant person in your Dept/subject area of interest.

Target Audience: Public of all ages, especially children

Who Gets Involved: Researchers in any subject that could broadly be called ‘Science’ at the University of Edinburgh.

What Could I do? Up to 200 staff and students are involved on many levels, from developing and creating activities to simply facilitating at the actual event.

Timescale: The 2017 Festival will take place from 1 – 16 April. Preparation can begin long before this however, e.g. for those developing activities.

Benefits: A fantastic opportunity to engage the public with your research at one of the most important engagement events in the University calendar. The 2012 event attracted over 13,000 visitors.
