Dr Jane Haley, Scientific Coordinator for Edinburgh Neuroscience, University of Edinburgh, has been chosen as the recipient for the 2013 Award for Public Understanding of Neuroscience from the British Neuroscience Association (BNA).
Jane runs a wide-ranging public engagement programme which delivers activities for schools through getBRAINY and Brain Awareness Week workshops, as well as public lectures, discussion events and film evenings for the general public, all delivered by enthusiastic members of the Edinburgh Neuroscience community.
Jane is one of a tiny number of recipients of this award who are university-based; the majority of previous awardees have high media profiles. Jane will be presented with her award at the BNA Christmas Symposium ‘The Musical Brain‘ in London on Monday 16th December 2013.
