2015 is the UN International Year of Light (IYL15), an excellent opportunity for public engagement activities for a wide range of research areas. This was the topic for one of our regular Beltane Breakfasts on Feb 11, 2015 at The Royal Society of Edinburgh. It was a sell out event and many connections were made. We heard from the following four speakers:
- Prof Martin Hendry, the Scottish coordinator for IYL15 (download presentation )
- Katarzyna Przybycien from Heriot Watt Engage spoke about their plans for IYL15
- Paula Bushell from the Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh (RBGE) talked about what motivated the RBGE to create “Botanic Lights – Night in the Garden” (download presentation)
- Malcolm Innes from Edinburgh Napier University talked about how he designed the installation “Botanic Lights – Night in the Garden” (download presentation)
