Explorathon, arguably Europe’s biggest single public engagement with research event, takes place here in Edinburgh on Friday 29th and Saturday 30th September. Could you help us evaluate the different activities, or make sure things run smoothly on the day? If so, then please come and volunteer!
Explorathon is Scotland’s contribution to European Researchers’ Night. Here in Edinburgh, researchers will engage members of the public with their work through drop-in activities, storytelling, discussions and demonstrations at venues included WHALE Arts, Ocean Terminal and the Charteris Centre.
We now have a full programme of researcher-led activities, but we still need volunteers to help things run smoothly. We need both general volunteers, and volunteers who will evaluate the events. Full (online) training for evaluation volunteers will be given.
This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to gain more experience of organising and running a large-scale public engagement with research event. Reasonable expenses will be covered, and basic communication training is offered.
