Participants are needed for a workshop being organised by Beltane and the Edinburgh International Film Festival and funded by the Wellcome Trust.

On 20th June, female* researchers in the field of health and wellbeing are invited to join female screenwriters for a discussion about cutting-edge research. The hope is that the discussions will inspire ideas for stories and future research-film collaborations.

There are spaces for six female researchers who will join six female screenwriters. All screenwriters will have produced feature length drama produced for either film or television. The day-long workshop will be facilitated by Kate Leys.

We’re looking for researchers who can communicate well with non-specialists and who can speak about research in their field in general (i.e. not just about their own research).

To take part in this exciting opportunity, please fill in the registration form by Monday 23rd May. We’ll let you know if you have a place by the 6th June.

*Female researchers are being targeted in 2016 because, at 2015’s event, it was observed that women in research and film face similar barriers to career progression.
