Beltane’s Sarah Anderson will shortly start a new part-time role as the University of Edinburgh’s Community Engagement Manager!
From Monday 1st May 2017, Sarah will be working part-time to support the University’s recently approved Community Engagement Strategy, with a special focus on ensuring the University meets the commitments it has made in its Social Impact Pledge. Sarah will be based in the Department for Social Responsibility and Sustainability’s Programmes team. The Community Engagement Manager role is a new one, and is one of two new positions that the University has created in order to support the delivery of its community engagement commitments.
Sarah will remain a core member of the Beltane team, and will remain involved in the upcoming Beltane Annual Gathering, Cabaret of Dangerous Ideas and Explorathon.
There’s great potential to share knowledge and experience between the distinct but overlapping areas of public engagement (with research) and community engagement, and what better way to do that than moving people around!
