EIFF | Ideas Lab – Write to Research: Comedy

Expand your network: Get to know some of the UK’s up-and-coming comedy writers!

Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF) will invite 6 comedy screenwriters from around the UK, all of whom will have had work produced for film or television to meet 6 researchers to take part in this event running over two days during EIFF.

Moderated by story editor Kate Leys, the sessions will involve discussions around the cutting edge of scientific and humanities research taking place and how writers can use this science to be inspired in their future story ideas. Discussions will include looking at connections, how science and comedic stories work together and what it is that we understand about the processes of finding a story through humour.

The aim of the event is simply to build connections.  Researchers who have attended previous Ideas Labs have all found the day extremely inspirational and useful.
