Who Gets Involved: We’re looking for exciting research and engaging scientists to inspire families – students, academics, teachers and school kids present every year and we are always keen to add to our programme. A key aim of the event is to connect children with researchers working at the cutting-edge of their disciplines, to improve their awareness of science and its role in society.

What Could You Do? Workshops, demonstrations and engaging talks all have a place in our programme and we are keen to give early career researchers a platform to development their public engagement experience. Everyone involved is supported by a festival volunteer, so it’s a great place to start developing your science communication skills.

Timescale: Bang Goes The Borders’ 2015 event was held on September 19th at St Mary’s School in Melrose.
