School of Biological Sciences at the University of Edinburgh
The School of Biological Sciences (SBS) wants to recognise the important role played by those who are involved in public engagement or are promoting knowledge exchange and commercialisation with their research. If you are a PhD student or SBS staff member and recognise a colleague who you think has contributed in these areas, please fill in a nomination form and help highlight their efforts! Nominations (including self-nominations) can be made for either award, by providing a name and a few supporting sentences. An award for Public Engagement could be for activities including school visits, writing a science blog or giving talks to the general public. A Commercialisation award will also be made for contributions towards: e.g. starting a spin out company or developing interactions with the biotech or pharma industry.
Further details and downloadable forms are on the Excellence with Impact site at http://www.excellence-impact.bio.ed.ac.uk/recognising-excellence-awards-0
Send nomination forms to firstname.lastname@example.org or Julie Fyffe by Friday 21 November 2014. The awards will be announced at the School Meeting in December.
