This full day event is geared towards Being Human Festival <https://beinghumanfestival.org/> organisers and others interested in public engagement in the humanities. Mixing presentations and hands on workshops, the day covers most of the major areas of putting together a successful public engagement activity, from coming up with an idea through to evaluation and pitching to the media.

Alongside presentations from some inspiring Being Human organisers from the past few years, there will also be hands-on workshops in the following areas:

*   Creating innovative event formats

*   Working in partnership with communities

*   Evaluation and demonstrating impact

*   Working with the media

The day will conclude with a panel geared towards working with the media. This panel will feature contributions from academic, broadcaster and Being Human director Professor Sarah Churchwell, public philosopher Nigel Warburton (Aeon, Philosophy Bites) and journalist and editor Alex Clark (Guardian, TLS, Radio 4). This event is supported by Routledge Taylor Francis.

* PROGRAMME NOW AVAILABLE * <https://beinghumanfestival.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/BEING-HUMAN-MASTERCLASS-DRAFT-PROGRAMME.pdf>

The event costs £20 to attend | £10 students/unwaged (please bring evidence of your status for registration on the day).

We have kept the fee as low as possible and it is only being used to cover some basic running costs, including refreshments and lunch which will be provided to all delegates.

If you’re interested in getting involved in the festival in coming years, or just want to learn more about public engagement generally, this should be a useful day.
