Prof Mary Bownes (School of Biological Sciences, The University of Edinburgh) was convenor of the Beltane Advisory Group until she retired in the summer of 2016. Mary was behind the original Beltane project back in 2008.

Prof Isobel Davidson (School of Health Sciences, Queen Margaret University) was a valued member of the Advisory Group until she passed away in 2015. Isobel’s humour, straightforwardness and enthusiasm are much missed.

The remit of the group is to:

  • Provide advice on the direction of Beltane activities and guidance on business plans
  • Highlight opportunities for the Beltane
  • Identify and support potential Beltane collaborations with other relevant initiatives
